Transparency and Good Governance

Rescrito and Aithor are digital platforms operated by Chatbot App Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong.

We are committed to operating our services transparently, responsibly, and in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to our activities and to the territories in which our services are offered.

These may include, where applicable, requirements relating to:

  • Personal data protection and privacy.
  • Digital services and electronic commerce.
  • Consumer protection.
  • Intellectual property.
  • Artificial intelligence.
  • Online safety and security.
  • Commercial communications.
  • Other legal or regulatory obligations relevant to our services.

We adopt governance practices intended to support ethical, informed, proportionate, and accountable decision-making throughout our business operations.

Ethics and Compliance in the Use of Artificial Intelligence

Rescrito and Aithor use artificial intelligence technologies to help Users create, edit, analyse, research, organise, and manage content.

We are committed to developing and providing these services responsibly and transparently. In particular, we seek to:

  • Clearly inform Users when they are interacting with systems or content generated through artificial intelligence.
  • Explain that AI-generated Results are produced through automated and probabilistic processes.
  • Warn Users that Results may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, biases, inaccurate interpretations, or non-existent references.
  • Encourage Users to review, verify, and, where necessary, correct Results before using, publishing, submitting, or sharing them.
  • Apply reasonable safeguards intended to prevent fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, and harmful uses of the Platforms.
  • Evaluate relevant legal, ethical, security, and privacy risks when introducing significant new AI functionalities.
  • Maintain appropriate human oversight in processes where it is necessary, proportionate, technically possible, or legally required.
  • Avoid presenting AI-generated Results as guaranteed to be accurate, original, exclusive, or suitable for every purpose.
  • Provide mechanisms through which Users can report inappropriate Results, technical issues, or potentially unlawful uses.

Chatbot App Limited does not manually review every prompt, conversation, document, or Result.

Automated systems and, when necessary and authorised, trained personnel may review limited information for purposes such as security, support, fraud prevention, enforcement of the Terms, investigation of incidents, or compliance with legal obligations.

AI-generated content does not constitute legal, medical, psychological, financial, tax, academic, or other professional advice and should not replace qualified human judgement.

Memory and Personalisation

Rescrito and Aithor may offer conversational memory and personalisation functions designed to maintain continuity between interactions and adapt future responses to the User’s preferences.

When these functions are available and enabled, they may store relevant information such as:

  • Language and communication preferences.
  • Preferred tone, style, structure, or format.
  • Recurring instructions.
  • Academic, professional, or personal objectives.
  • Projects, areas of interest, or contextual information.
  • Other information the User asks the Platforms to remember.

We seek to provide clear controls that allow Users, where available, to:

  • Enable or disable memory.
  • Review stored information.
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Delete individual memory items.
  • Delete all stored memory.
  • Ask that specific information not be remembered.

Memory may contain incorrect interpretations, incomplete information, or outdated data. Users should review and manage stored information when necessary.

Deleting a conversation may not automatically delete information previously saved in memory when conversations and memory are managed separately. This distinction will be explained through the relevant controls and Privacy Policy.

Commitment to Intellectual Property

We respect the intellectual property and industrial property rights of Users, third parties, and technology providers.

Users retain the rights they hold in the prompts, documents, files, images, instructions, and other content they provide to Rescrito or Aithor.

Chatbot App Limited does not claim ownership of Results generated specifically for a User. To the extent that Chatbot App Limited holds any rights in such Results, the User may use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and commercially exploit them, subject to:

  • Applicable law.
  • Third-party rights.
  • The conditions of relevant technology providers.
  • The User’s subscription plan.
  • Applicable academic, professional, institutional, or contractual rules.

Because AI systems operate probabilistically, we cannot guarantee that Results:

  • Are original or exclusive.
  • Qualify for copyright or other legal protection.
  • Do not resemble content generated for other Users.
  • Are free from third-party rights or claims.
  • Will be accepted by an academic institution, employer, public authority, or other third party.

Users are responsible for reviewing Results and ensuring that their intended use complies with applicable law and the rights of others.

We may restrict or remove content when there are reasonable grounds to believe that it infringes third-party rights, violates our Terms, compromises security, or is unlawful.

Privacy and Personal Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with the privacy and data protection laws applicable to Chatbot App Limited and its services.

Our privacy practices are based on principles including:

  • Lawfulness and transparency.
  • Purpose limitation.
  • Data minimisation.
  • Accuracy.
  • Limited retention.
  • Confidentiality and security.
  • Accountability.
  • Respect for applicable User rights.

Depending on the services used, personal data may include account details, conversations, prompts, files, preferences, memory information, subscription data, technical records, mobile application data, and support communications.

Personal data may be processed by service providers where necessary to:

  • Operate and host the Platforms.
  • Authenticate Users.
  • Provide artificial intelligence functions.
  • Process payments and subscriptions.
  • Send operational or authorised commercial communications.
  • Provide mobile notifications.
  • Diagnose errors and improve performance.
  • Protect security and prevent fraud.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Personal data is not sold or rented to third parties for their independent commercial use.

Data may be shared without separate consent where another valid legal basis applies, including where processing is necessary to provide a service requested by the User, fulfil a contract, protect legitimate interests, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, or respond to a valid authority request.

Where consent is legally required, it will be requested separately and may be withdrawn through the available controls.

Users may exercise the privacy rights available under the law applicable to them, including, where relevant, rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, consent withdrawal, and safeguards relating to certain automated decisions.

More detailed information is available in the Rescrito and Aithor Privacy Policy.

Mobile Applications and Device Permissions

Rescrito and Aithor may be available through mobile applications for iOS and Android.

These applications may request permission to access device functions such as:

  • Files and documents.
  • Photographs and videos.
  • Camera.
  • Microphone.
  • Notifications.

Permissions will be requested when necessary for a functionality selected by the User and can be managed through the device settings.

Granting a permission does not necessarily mean that the application collects all information accessible through that permission. We process only the content selected, recorded, or submitted through the relevant functionality, subject to the Privacy Policy.

The mobile applications may also use technical services and software development kits for authentication, purchases, notifications, security, diagnostics, analytics, and performance monitoring.

Information about the data processed through the applications and their integrated technologies will be maintained in the Privacy Policy and in the privacy declarations provided through the relevant application stores.

Responsible Innovation

Rescrito and Aithor are continuously evolving services.

  • Misuse and abuse.
  • Reliability and quality.
  • Accessibility and fairness.
  • Dependence on external providers.

The nature and depth of each assessment will depend on the functionality, the data involved, its potential impact, and the applicable legal requirements.

Where a change materially affects a paid service, the processing of personal data, or the rights of Users, we will provide appropriate information or notice in accordance with the applicable Terms, Privacy Policy, and law.

External Technology Providers

Rescrito and Aithor rely on external providers for infrastructure, authentication, artificial intelligence, payments, communications, mobile notifications, diagnostics, analytics, security, and other technical functions.

The use of an external provider does not mean that every provider receives all User data.

Each provider should receive only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant function, subject to applicable contractual, technical, security, and legal safeguards.

Some providers process data on behalf of Chatbot App Limited. Others may act independently for certain operations, particularly in relation to payments, application stores, fraud prevention, taxation, and legal compliance.

Providers, models, and technologies may change as the Platforms evolve. Material changes affecting personal data or User rights will be reflected in the Privacy Policy or communicated separately when required.

Ethical and Responsible Use by Users

Responsible use of Rescrito and Aithor also depends on the actions of our Users.

Users are expected to:

  • Use the Platforms lawfully, ethically, and in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.
  • Respect intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, image, and other third-party rights.
  • Avoid uploading personal or confidential information they are not authorised to process.
  • Review and verify AI-generated Results.
  • Follow applicable academic, professional, employment, contractual, and institutional rules.
  • Avoid using AI-generated content to mislead others or impersonate another person.
  • Protect their account credentials and devices.
  • Avoid scraping, reverse engineering, mass extraction, circumvention of access controls, or other unauthorised exploitation.
  • Avoid using multiple accounts to improperly obtain promotions, bypass limits, or evade restrictions.
  • Report suspected security incidents, unlawful content, or misuse of the Platforms.

Chatbot App Limited may apply proportionate restrictions to content, accounts, or functionalities where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, infringement of rights, or security risks.
